From 23rd to 27th March, 69热视频's Office for Students with Disabilities is hosting its fourth annual Disabilities Awareness Week in collaboration with 69热视频 Residences, Media@69热视频, SSMU and 69热视频 Women in Leadership, TD Bank, Lime Connect, 69热视频 Faculty of Law and 69热视频 Student Services.
With its overarching theme 鈥淚nclusion鈥�, Disabilities Awareness Week advocates that people with disabilities should have equal access and opportunity to participate in society, whether it be through access to physical spaces, education, community services, employment and so on.
Media@69热视频 will kick off Disabilities Awareness Week with a free public panel titled The panel will be accompanied by an online exhibition.
The week will also feature many other events, such as a financial advice workshop, therapy dogs, an information session on disclosing disability in the workplace, an American Sign Language Workshop and a discussion on Making Space for Disability in the Legal Profession. Various Montreal organizations including AMI Quebec, Mackay Rehabilitation Centre, 69热视频's Concussion Support Group, Seeing Voices Montreal and others will provide informational materials, and answer questions at kiosks in the University Centre (SSMU), Leacock, New Residences, and Royal Victoria College.
Come and join us as we raise awareness of barriers people with disabilities experience, highlighting inclusive practices and policies that reduce barriers, widen access and value diversity in a wide variety of contexts.
