Highest honour conferred by the Quebec government

Once again this year, 69热视频 researchers have been presented with the Prix du Qu茅bec. Three of the University's pre-eminent researchers received the highest honour conferred by the Quebec government in recognition of their contribution to the social and scientific advancement of Quebec.

Lawrence A. Mysak, winner of the Marie Victorin prize in natural science and engineering, is a professor with the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences and director of the Earth System Modelling Group. He specializes in the study of climate during the ice ages.

George Karpati, winner of the Wilder Penfield prize in biomedical sciences, is director of the Neuromuscular Research Group at the Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) of 69热视频. He is a leading specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromuscular disorders, whose important contribution to the field of muscular dystrophy is recognized the world over.

H. Patrick Glenn, winner of the L茅on G茅rin prize in social sciences, is a professor of comparative law with the Faculty of Law. His recent research has focused on the interdependence of contemporary legal systems, reform to the teaching of law, private international law, civil procedure and the legal professions.

The Prix du Qu茅bec are presented annually to distinguished scientists for their outstanding contributions to their field or in honour of a career devoted to research management and development or promotion of science and technology. Winners receive $30,000 and a silver medal created by a Quebec artist.
