How concerned should parents be about excessive screen time and kids? This fall, 69热视频鈥檚 Department of Educational Counselling Psychology will be hosting a virtual series of three weekly lectures that will address the best ways for parents to raise kids in the digital age 鈥� all for free.听

Dr. Tina Montreuil, Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, has contributed to a documentary entitled "Le Grand R茅veil" produced by Marie-Claude Julien from Radio-Canada on anxiety in youth. She along with other renowned experts on the subject matter comment on various issues surrounding the increasing prevalence of anxiety and other mental health issues in children and adolescents.

The Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, has announced an investment of over $4 million in funding through the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council鈥檚 (SSHRC) Partnership Engage Grants to provide short-term and timely support for partnered research activities that will inform decision-making in the public, private or not-for-profit sector.

Susanne P. Lajoie, Professor in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, wrote an opinion piece in The Globe and Mail on Riding the Wave of Educational Change, where she looks at how now may be the ideal time to embrace technology as a component of everyday instruction. However, with so little preparation time, will instructors be pulled down by the steep learning curve, or will they find new innovative methods of teaching?

Announcing a new course open to Education students (DISE, ECP, KPE)!听 EDPE 595: Seminar in Special Topics-- Introduction to Professional Engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada is a graduate level course that is also open to to advanced undergraduate students, with permission of the instructor.听Taught by Professor Dennis Wendt on Tuesdays at 11:35 AM to 2:35 PM (EST), this course provides an introduction to key considerations pertaining to professional engagement with Indigenous Peoples in Canada, including First Nations, M茅tis, and Inuit peoples.
