Under-20 cross-country champ, star student from Bermuda starts at Desautels

Published: 5 September 2017

Brianna Mendes (BCom’20) is no ordinary student. The Bermuda High School graduate comes to Desautels with the kind of academic background that most of us can only dream of: She received the Doris Trott Butterfield Scholarship, which awards those with the highest attainable GPA, as well as the Dudley and Deborah Butterfield Scholarship, which brings high-performing Bermudan students to study at 69ÈÈÊÓƵ.

Her academic performance also netted Ms Mendes multiple other awards, but she also made her mark in non-academic areas. She helped organize the school’s first career fair, and was a national champion cross-country athlete, who represented Bermuda at the Carifta games.
