Bertrand Lebouch茅, Associate Professor at the Department of Family Medicine, has received a five-year funding from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) for his project entitled Implementation of a patient portal and tailored patient-reported outcome measures to improve health problem detection and retention in HIV care: The DRHIVe Study. He has received this funding with Kim Engler, PhD, his Research Associate.
Tibor Schuster, Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director for the Ph.D. program and Postdoctoral Fellows at our Department and Alexandra DePokomandy, also Associate Professor and Director of Research at the Department, are co-applicants of the project.

About Bertrand Lebouch茅
An Associate Professor in the Department of Family Medicine, Lebouch茅 specializes in primary care for people with HIV and/or hepatitis C. He works in patient-oriented clinical research with people living with or vulnerable to HIV, particularly with GBMSM [gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men]. His research team has developed several tools for improving the care pathway and to help individuals better manage their HIV, including the Opal smartphone app and the Marvin chatbot, which uses AI to inform Facebook users about HIV treatments and treatment as prevention.
