Conflict Management and Difficult Conversations

  • The 2019/20 MSc and PhD cohorts should take this as it is one of the training sessions promised to you as part of Orientation.
  • Please note that students in older cohorts, who missed previous sessions covering this topic, are welcome to join!
  • This is also open to DFM staff who have not yet taken it.

This workshop has been designed to guide participants on how best to manage conflict and the different styles that can be used. It will also provide a framework for having difficult conversations, as well as highlight some of the negative consequences of unresolved conflict on our physical and mental health.

Miriam Carver

Miriam Carver is on faculty at 69热视频鈥檚 Executive Institute and is also an instructor at University of Montreal鈥檚 Hautes Etudes Commerciales (HEC). She is President of Carver Institute Inc., an organizational development firm providing learning and consulting to clients throughout North America and overseas in manufacturing, transportation, telecommunications, distribution, retail, government, education and healthcare.

Areas of expertise include leadership development, conflict resolution and negotiation skills, change management, building teams, customer service, executive coaching and emotional intelligence.

Tamara Carver

Tamara Carver is an Assistant Professor at 69热视频 in the Faculty of Medicine. She is the Education Lead of Family Medicine Innovations in Learning (FMIL) which supports leading-edge education innovation.
