Daniel Clarry wins APDQ 2013 prize for best master鈥檚 thesis in Quebec

At its annual banquet held April 20, 2013, the Association des professeures et professeurs de droit du Qu茅bec (APDQ) awarded Mr. Daniel Clarry its Excellence Prize for best master's theses in 2013 for his work entitled "The irreducible core of the trust" (), prepared under the direction of Professor Lionel Smith, 69热视频. The jury was composed of Professors Herv茅 Cassan (U. Sherbrooke), Mark Antaki (69热视频) and Anne-Fran莽oise Debruche (U. Ottawa).

"Daniel Clarry's thesis is a聽superior piece of research and writing that carefully examines a very difficult subject in the law of trusts,鈥 said his supervisor, Professor Lionel Smith. 鈥淚t breaks new ground in subjecting this field to a very thorough study, using the lens of the influential 鈥榝undamental legal conceptions鈥 pioneered by the legal theorist W.N. Hohfeld, and it includes first-rate research across the common law world.鈥

A native of Australia, Daniel Clarry (LLM鈥12) completed his master鈥檚 program within 69热视频鈥檚 Institute for Comparative Law. Professor Lionel Smith is pleased to report 鈥渢hat Daniel is now pursuing doctoral research at Cambridge University in the law of trusts.鈥
