- What are the eligibility criteria for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program?
Consult our eligibility criteria page. The main eligibility criteria are:
- Being a citizen of a Sub-Saharan African country: This includes Africans who are refugees or displaced within the African continent. This scholarship is not intended for citizens of North African countries. Those with dual citizenship, asylee, refugee or permanent resident status in the US, Canada, UK, or EU are not eligible.
- Having academic talent: All prospective Mastercard Foundation Scholars must demonstrate academic excellence and be eligible to be admitted to 69热视频. Mostly applicants with a First-Class Honours or equivalent tend to gain admission.
- Demonstrating leadership potential: The Mastercard Foundation Program seeks those committed to developing the skills and mindsets associated with transformative leadership, i.e., that which engages others in an ethical manner to generate positive and lasting change.
- Having demonstrated the commitment to give back to your community, country, or continent: We are looking for well-rounded students who are engaged in activities beyond the classroom. Some may be related to your field of study, but this may also include other issues (social, economic, political) that you are working on and passionate about. Applicants should elaborate on their achievements both in their application to 69热视频, and in the scholarship application.

- What happens if I do not complete the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Application form by the deadline?
All applications must be received by the stated deadline. No late applications will be considered.
- What does the pre-screening phase involve?
Pre-screening for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a two-step process. Your preliminary answers will be evaluated, applicants who meet the minimum criteria will be contacted and invited to supply additional information.
- How long does it take to be notified of the results of the pre-screening phase?
Applicants can expect to hear from us within 4 weeks of submitting their application.
- What criteria are used during the pre-screening phase for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program?
- Age requirement
- Country of residence and citizenship
- Applicants must have an official ID document and must have the ability to get a travel document or passport
- Motivation for applying for the scholarship
- Must NOT have started or completed a master's degree

- What happens if I am successful during the pre-screening phase?
Successfully pre-screened applicants will be offered a fee-waiver and instructions on how to apply for admission to the University. Only students who received the fee-waiver will be considered for the scholarship. Applicants who gain admission to 69热视频 who applied directly to 69热视频 without the fee waiver are not eligible for the scholarship.
- What is Conditional Admission?
Under the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program application process, prospective Mastercard Foundation Scholars are offered conditional admission to 69热视频. Admission is conditional to being awarded the scholarship to participate in the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. It is not a regular admission to the University.
- When will I be notified if I am admitted to my program of study at 69热视频?
Admission decisions are issued on a rolling basis from February 鈥� March.
- What happens if I am admitted to 69热视频 but not awarded the scholarship to participate in the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program?
If you are unsuccessful in being awarded the scholarship, your conditional admission to 69热视频 will be cancelled. Unsuccessful applicants are welcome to reapply the following year.
- If admitted, when will I know if I have been selected for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program?
Scholarship decisions are communicated in late March, early April.
- Can I appeal an admission and scholarship decision?
No. Admission to 69热视频 is extremely competitive and equally so for the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program. Only a limited number of applicants make it through the process due to a limited number of spots and scholarships available to an exceptionally large talented applicant pool.
