  4. You have completed or are in the process of completing, at the time of application, the 9 required聽course credits and at least one of the core courses (for example: PATH 613/620)

*MSc students who wish to pursue a PhD but who have not obtained the minimum GPA in their MSc course work while in the Department must submit a Master's thesis and then apply to the PhD program.

If approved for fast-tracking, the student will enter the doctoral program at the PhD2 level.

Steps to transfer:

At the first committee meeting, the MSc student must express their interest in transferring to the PhD program. The advisory committee will then respond by providing a written recommendation for/against the transfer.

If a positive recommendation is put forward and the student satisfies all the requirements above, the student must then formally apply to the PhD program on Slate. A candidate for transfer must聽submit an application聽to the doctoral聽program according to normal procedures and deadlines (Note: as a fast-track applicant, you do NOT have to submit supporting documents or pay the application fee).聽
